Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to and use of Bay County Criminal History. Opening a page, reading its content, or submitting a query means you accept them. Do not continue to use the website if you disagree with any term.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website has no government affiliation. It and its advertising partners do not provide services for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other decisions regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The resource identifies official criminal-record channels in Bay County and Michigan. It is neither a private investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site, independent of every government office. It does not store official files, submit paperwork, retrieve a record, or perform an official criminal-history check.

Its purpose is to direct readers to Bay County Sheriff Records, the county courts, the Michigan State Police Criminal Justice Information Center, the Michigan Public Sex Offender Registry, and outside research tools. Administrative requests to covered Bay County offices follow the Michigan Freedom of Information Act, MCL 15.231 et seq.; court records follow Michigan Court Rule 8.119, and MSP’s criminal-history reporting system rests on MCL 28.242.

2. Rules for Using This Site

By using the site, you agree not to:

  • Interfere with site operation or another visitor’s access
  • Use bots, scrapers, or other automated collection tools on the pages
  • Attempt unauthorized entry into any system or account
  • Use information to threaten, stalk, or harass a person
  • Make a credit, employment, housing, or insurance decision from site content
  • Violate federal, Michigan, or local law

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information found here or through a linked tool may not be used to harass, threaten, stalk, intimidate, or discriminate against anyone. Such conduct may also violate criminal law. The rule is especially important for the Michigan Public Sex Offender Registry. Its information supports public safety awareness, not confrontation, vigilantism, blacklisting, or housing discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Bay County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. Neither it nor its advertising partners creates a credit report, consumer report, or screening product. Information from the site or a linked tool must not be used to:

  • Set insurance eligibility or premiums
  • Evaluate a renter or housing application
  • Make a hiring or termination decision
  • Decide creditworthiness
  • Determine eligibility for a license, permit, or public program
  • Carry out any other FCRA-regulated purpose

A legally required official check must come through the authorized process supplied for that purpose, such as a Michigan-approved Live Scan channel, or through an FCRA-compliant provider.

5. No Legal Advice

The content is not legal advice. General explanations of Bay County records cannot determine how a charge, warrant, conviction, or Michigan set-aside rule affects one person. Seek advice from a licensed Michigan attorney.

6. No Warranties

All content and functions are provided “as is.” No warranty promises that:

  • Outside search results are complete or correctly matched
  • The website will operate without interruption
  • Every page is free from errors or security defects
  • Information is always complete, correct, and current

Criminal records change when charges are filed or dismissed and when Michigan courts restrict or set aside records. Delays and gaps can occur. Nothing published here is an official statement from Bay County, a court, the Sheriff, or Michigan State Police.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links can lead to government offices, court systems, legal resources, and commercial search services that we do not control. Their content, availability, prices, security, and data practices are their responsibility. Read the destination’s own terms before using it.

8. Intellectual Property

Bay County Criminal History or its content partners own the site’s text, graphics, logos, and code. Written permission is required before copying, distributing, modifying, or creating derivative material.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for damages arising from use of the website, its information, or a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold us harmless against claims, demands, actions, legal fees, and related costs caused by your use of the site or violation of these terms.

11. Governing Law

Michigan law governs these terms. Any dispute arising from use of the site must be brought in a court located in Michigan.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised. A replacement takes effect when it is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be limited or ended at any time, for any reason, without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms continue in force. The affected provision will be narrowed only as needed to make it enforceable.

15. Questions
